A smile is better than any medicine

“A smile says it all” was a campaign instigated by the Messer Group GmbH with the aim of making it completely acceptable not to shake hands when meeting. Not shaking hands is one of the measures being recommended by the pandemic team in order to protect against swine flu. The reason for this is that viruses can be easily transmitted via handshaking. Not shaking hands might sound easy at first but it can often be difficult in practice. We don’t just offer our hand out of habit, it is also done to avoid offending the other person.

Messer has developed a campaign logo which will be deployed with all measures: For example, badges are currently being produced which are to be worn during working hours. Customers, suppliers and other visitors receive a badge and a small information card about the campaign as a greeting. The idea is also to hand out more than one badge so that the “A smile says it all” campaign spreads like a virus, just like swine flu.

A website for the campaign is also being set up at www.hoeflich-ohne-haende.de. Why not adopt the “A smile says it all” approach to politeness and discover how a smile can be so much more effective when meeting someone!
